City Park Road, winter 2010
In addition to beautifying a back yard, this project necessitated some intensive drainage remediation work to correct the steep hillside flow towards the owner’s house. While it’s never a fun to throw money underground, the end result of this project has ended up saving the clients 40% on their water bill (about 18,000 gallons a month from their pre BRS designed garden) while successfully keeping their hillside in tact. And a 2011 summer benefit, the homeowner’s wildfire prevention assessor gave the new back garden high marks with the gravel acting as an effective fire break.
